Wood Cleaning and Waxing
I do not use any chemicals in the wood cleaning and waxing process. I start with the square scrub with an STF pad attached. This usually takes off about two coats of wax as well as any finish and dirt. I then rinse and use a high pressure wash. After that I will mop and sweep one more time before applying the acrylic, water based wax. I use a 28% solid wax and apply at least three coats to the wood. Each coat takes approximately thirty minutes to dry. After the last coat is applied, the floor will be able to be walked on within the hour.
To start off, I always spray Grand Slam all over the carpet. This is the strongest phosphorus free pre-spray sold. If the carpet is badly stained, I will bring my buffer in and run it over the carpet. During this time I will also spray any pet spots and remove any gum or candy. Lastly, I steam clean the entire area and within about four hours it is able to be walked on.
Vinyl VCT Tile Strip and Wax
We mostly strip and wax tile like this in businesses. I start by using a heavily concentrated stripper to take off all layers of wax previously piled up. After I remove that, I lay 4-6 layers of hard wax on the floors. Within about an hour of the last coat being laid, the floors are able to be walked on.
Dehumidifiers can be used to control the humidity levels in a residence or office, or specifically used to eliminate musty odors.
